My Journey to Immigration Law
My own immigration journey inspired a lifelong commitment to helping others build their future in the United States.
I immigrated to the United States from Vietnam at the age of ten after my family fled the communist regime. Like many immigrant families, we came to America seeking opportunity, security, and the chance to build a better future. That experience shaped my life and ultimately inspired me to dedicate my legal career to helping others pursue the American dream.
Growing up in California, I developed a passion for mathematics and science that led me to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), one of the nation’s premier science and engineering universities. After graduation, I worked as an engineer in the defense industry, solving complex technical problems.
Although engineering was intellectually rewarding, I realized my true calling was helping people. I chose to pursue a legal career and earned my Juris Doctor, with Honors, from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles. Since then, I have devoted more than 25 years exclusively to the practice of U.S. immigration law.
